Who we are
The shop on the corner of Eaton and Hilbre Road has been in the Rymill family for over four decades. During the 1980s it offered “general provisions” as seen in the photograph here. In the doorway of the shop you can see proprietor Mike Rymill and his son, Gavin.
After other tenants offered antiques and health food, the shop was brought back into the family with Margaret Rymill’s much-loved second hand bookshop, Bookends.
Now, after a period of dormancy, the business premises has come back to life with a new offering, as Gavin Rymill brings his love of puzzles, dinosaurs and creativity to provide a family experience at the heart of the town which has been a family home for so long.
Mike Rymill, who had been a painter and decorator (as well has having many other skills) came out of retirement to fit out the structure of the business, and a real team effort has resulted in the creation of the West Kirby Escape Room.
We hope you enjoy visiting the old corner shop and discovering the exciting new creation inside.
